While this was a good primer on Fantasy Craft, it was not a great adventure. A walkthrough of the jungle would have been very nice, and the chase at the end could have allowed some action. However, with no Falo stats or jungle creatures, it made that much more difficult. Had this been a home game, I would have made some up. Given that this was Wyrmstone, I feel they need to be provided.

It's a valid point, certainly. Keep in mind that this is a demo module, and so has been kept short deliberately. We anticipated that in a given con slot, some time is going to get spent (with this module in particular) getting characters set up and character journals straight and all the hoo-hah involved in getting rolling in an OP campaign.

So this is *not* indicative of what future modules will look like. :)

As said, though, your criticism is valid, and it's worth looking at including an expanded jungle walkthrough or chase section for tables that have time. The nice thing about pdf downloads is that they can be updated more or less at will, and Idols of Ogun-Samdi may well benefit from such an update.

And this brings us to the real bugaboo: how do you feel about writing one or both of those for inclusion in an update to the module? You'd get a co-author credit, score some karma, and be able to call yourself "the adventure commodore, thank you very much." :D

I'd be happy too. In fact, I'd go so far as to say "That's sounds like fun! Where's my pen; I've got to get working."

The humor I find in this is that it used to have a preface scene which established the adventure during your journey, then let you work your way through the jungle, etc. It was pulled for the reasons cited--to keep it short and sweet.

And perhaps there should remain both:

1) The short mission for demos and cons and such 2) A longer one for home play.

Both versions can be folded into a single document, certainly. The Introductory GM notes can discuss how to adjust the adventure to the time at hand.

Still, I look forward to seeing your jungle chase. :)

However, just because there was one written once upon a time doesn't mean we don't want yours. To the writing desk with you!

Feel free to hit the email lists and discuss ideas and stats and other such whatnot. We look forward to seeing your stuff, and to calling you a contributor.

Hey, remember this? Seems like just yesterday, but now it's half a year since then. Well, now that work is not destroying muse from lack of free time, I actually have a rough outline of how this will work and started writing? Where should I send these things to?

  Stew:
Good day Gents,

I played the module this past weekend at AnonyCon and it was fun. I would not have minded a walk through the jungle, but it was not really missed. Some stats for the Falo may have been useful for the GM, but we looked at their numbers and our wounds and beat feet. Given the lack of dramatic conflicts in FC, some general guidelines for the GM might be useful, but we muddled through nicely.

Yay! Posted on Monday December 7 2009, @04:10PM
We're glad you liked it. Feel free to comment on Lost Prince in it's respective forum. We ought to get that conversion adventure a forum, too, come to think of it.

A simple and short, but very solid scenario. Excellent for a shorter session and a good way to kick off the campaign!

I just played this, as my introduction to the campaign, and I think it works nicely. I really liked the idea of a longer "home play" version being available as well as this version for conventions. I had never played FantasyCraft (or Spycraft) before this, and I feel like it helped me learn the system quite well.
