The elves of Liunonda that live independently of the Celestial Empire are known as the
Abhainn [AV-eyn]. Free-spirited and hot-blooded, the Abhainn elves live a life much different than that of the Celestials and their Scions. Where the people of the Empire consider themselves the masters of the elements, the elves view those same powers as friends and neighbors.
As physical specimens, the Abhainn and the Scions are difficult to discern from one another (a fact that is generally disliked by both groups). The physical build of each is nearly identical, though Abhainn Elves have a much wider variety of hair colors than the Celestials and Scions. Abhainn also adorn themselves with feathers, leather, skin paint, and other accessories of the natural world, where Scions tend to shun such things as generally unclean. Abhainn tend to work less with metal, using it as an accent rather than a mainstay. They prefer wood in their weaponry. Abhainn archers are legendary.
